Tarragona: World Heritage III

Tarragona: World Heritage Saga is designed by Josep Borrut.

Levels are inspired in Tarragona. This Catalonian city was elected by UNESCO as "World Heritage" in the year 2000.

The level is for free distribution.

This level is related with the previous episodes of the Tarragona: World Heritage (TWH). For this reason and to avoid problems, it is strongly recommended to use the "Script.dat" and "English.dat" provided in the Zip file.

Some comments about the level:

The level is inspired in two real roman monuments, "Devils Bridge" and "Obelisk", both located in Tarragona and nominated "World Heritage" by UNESCO on November 30th, 2000.

I have been working with this level between March and September 2001. I was stopped several times the development of the level during this period, and delayed its completion. The reason is the aqueduct area. This is not a too much complex area it self, but is very large open zone, more than 45 units from West to East. As you probably know, the TRLE do not show walls farter to 20 units, in that situation the walls appears and disappears, and if an horizon exist it also appears and disappears causing a very unrealistic effect. I had been delayed the level till have an acceptable solution to the problem, after test several ideas, finally I had decided that the best choice was use a third person view for this section. I hope you will understand this compromise between the playability and the limits of the TR engine.

This level is the nexus between TWH1&2 (Escipions Tower & Escipions' Caves), TWH4 (Devil's Lair) and TWH5 (The Underground Empire). There is a first starting point, just at the end of TWH1&2. If you find the 1st secret then you will promt to TWH4, at its end you will came back to a 2nd start point. At the end of the level you will reach TWH5.

If you do not have installed TWH4 or you do not want to play it again, after pick the 1st secret (Sliver Skull), do not cross the door and came back to the Bridge area.

The Bridge are have some "volumetric" effects. You can activate or deactivated those effects with the TRLE set-up.

There are several kinds of enemies: 4 bats, 2 scorpions, 1 wildboard and around 13 soldiers. There are also 4 UN soldiers, I would suggest do not kill any one of those, this will make Lara life easier.

I have also tried to make a non "too much challenging level". There are still challenging but I have tried to reserve it for the secrets. The 1st secret needs a good searching, 2nd one needs some imagination and the 3rd one is well hidden. I hope that "challenging lovers" will excuse me.

One thing is clear, it is not possible to please everybody at the same time! I hope you will enjoy the level!

I have developed the level using the default color settings of my graphic card (Desktop, Direct3D and Glide/OpenGL settings R:1.30 G:1.30 B:1.30), and less some rooms that are intentioned dark, I am able to see fine rooms. If you see too dark, may be you need to adjust the brightness, contrast or graphic card defaults.

If you use the "fly cheat" you can create impossible/unexpected situations, like reach some where before time, this can result in impossible situations. I have work in some of them but ... Good luck!
